No wonder near capacity crowds are drawn nightly to see the Shanghai Acrobatics Troupe. Circus acrobatics has been around in China for 2000 years and today's troupes are reputed to be the best in the world. Surprisingly, this art form benefited from the Cultural Revolution. Performers in those days were labeled 'gypsies' and so the art was allowed to flourish. Performances are never dull. There is music, clowns, magic, mime, dance and dare-devil acts.
